
How MandaScope works.
Divide a circle into some number of arcs. In this illustration, the number of arcs is 4.
Form a triangle the size of half of an arc.
Clip a similar triangle from an image.
Duplicate the clipping, flip the duplicate horizontally, and join it to the original clipping. This creates a polygon the size of the original arc.

Rotate the pologon to tile each arc.
A four-fold mandala!
Now return to the triangular clipping of the image. Move the triangle one pixel to the right, and repeat the process, creating a second mandala. Continue creating mandalas until the right vertex of the triangle meets the right edge of the image.
Put these frames together in sequence to create a movie.
